      Greetings

PC Industries products cover a wider range of applications than any US inspection equipment manufacturer, our products might be a perfect match for your unique application. Last month, we took a look at how the Guardian PQV is perfect for some of the more difficult wide web applications. This month, we’re taking a look at some of the capabilities of the Guardian OLP, and how it can help you improve the quality of the jobs coming out of your pre-press department.

      Guardian OLP for Pre-Press Applications

The Guardian OLP is PC Industries complete pre-press, off-line proofing and inspection solution. The Guardian OLP fits seamlessly into nearly any step of print production, helping companies achieve a higher standard of quality in their printing process.

The system automatically detects and highlights differences in print quality between a customer-approved master and pre-press files or press samples, but its capabilities go far beyond a pixel-by-pixel comparison. The Guardian OLP also brings a host of other features and capabilities to help assure it can exceed the expectations placed on it in even the most demanding print applications. Easy to use, powerful, and versatile, the Guardian OLP is the perfect fit for any company who wants to put quality and customer satisfaction first.

      February’s InfoBYTE

Each month we present a new bit of trivia that we call an InfoByte. You can check out previous InfoBytes in our newsletter archive.

This month’s InfoByte contains a few items about this history of chess.

The word "Checkmate" in chess comes from the Persian phrase "Shah Mat," or "the king is helpless.”

The highest number of moves in a tournament game is 269. It was played in 1989 between Nikolic-Arsovic and lasted 20 hours and 15 minutes. It ended in a draw.

Chess originated from the two-player Indian war game, Chatarung, which dates back to 600 A.D.

American chess was fortuitously trumpeted by founding father and chess aficionado Benjamin Franklin, who in 1750 penned "The Morals of Chess,” which can be found here.

The queen was not always the most powerful piece on the board. In one of the original Persian versions of the game, the piece that was next to the king was the king’s advisor, or Firzan. This piece could only move one square diagonally. It wasn’t until the 15th century that she became the queen as we know it today.
